Hello Cubbers, Good news! I bought another C100 and took the original carb off that one, rebuilt it with new O rings and gaskets and fitted it to my good cub C100 that was playing up. Lo and behold the issues have all gone away and it idles much nicer than it ever did before. So I have learnt a good lesson, it's not always what you think it is and genuine parts are worth paying for (assuming that you can still get them). Thanks for everyones input.
