Hello Andrewwoey, Thanks for your reply! I'm not sure about the new ignition system, I bought it from here eBay, the listing is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-50-Super-Cub-C100-CA100-C105-C105T-C110-CDI-Electronic-Ignition-Magneto-/151637474982?hash=item234e4c3ea6:m:mYvRv_s5VQh9MK4hlkAIGqA&vxp=mtr
When I replaced the ignition coil it came with a new HT lead, Nippon Denso spark plug cap and I have fitted a new spark plug then tried another with no difference. I do have a new battery fitted, and it is fully charged.
I bought another C100 last night that has an original stock carb. I will take delivery next week and will strip, clean and swap the carbs to see if that makes a difference. Before I bought the other C100 I also ordered a C50 carb, manifold and air filter. I know the manifold studs are slightly different, but I thing if I machine the holes I should be able to make it fit.
If none of that fixes the issue I will be swapping the loom. First I will try the loom from the other C100 I just bought and if that's no good I will buy a new loom from Thailand.
What should have been a pretty easy restoration is proving to be a costly pain in the arse! But I love the my little Honda and will support it until it is better
I have another question regarding the second C100 I just bought. The first I have is as original as it can be, but is a bit underpowered on the hills here in Wellington. I think the second one I have just bought will have a new more powerful engine and I have been looking at Lifan 110cc engines. This is the one I am interested in

Does anyone know if it will fit straight in? I know I will have to convert it to 12Volts, but I guess a rectifier and some new lamps should sort that.
Any other words of wisdom about engine swaps? Is there a more powerful one that fits straight in?
Cheers,
Andrew
