NOW it's interesting! Good spot Andrew on that part P caveat that allows 30mph. I was not aware of that.

I have seen Honda 50 exhausts that are stamped '30mph restricted' In fact I bought one at Copdock, removed the 10mm thick washer/restrictor from the end and it went well on a 90.

I don't know what range of 50's they were fitted to. Probably the C50 LAC, which I believe was designated moped at the time?

And that in my mind, would certainly enable one to ride that model on a P entitlement.

Most of our involvement with this argument though, is in regard to 16 year olds. Very important they get correct info, and for them, I'm still certain all c50's are out of bounds. (Legally).

And where 'Moped' has been entered on a V5 incorrectly, the person I spoke with at DVLA was clear; The V5 needs to be sent back for correction.
