Hi again,
I took the legshield off today to have a nosy for air leaks as per sharp-stick Deano's sage advice.
With the engine running I applied liberal quantities of off-brand WD-40-surrogate to the carb-manifold joint, the manifold-head joint, and any potential gap or opening I could imagine in the carb itself.
The engine's tickover rate remained resolutely unchanged throughout, which I suppose means I can discount an air-leak.
So, I have a clean carb full of unblocked jets, with a working choke, and no obvious air leaks. Where do you think I should look next to find the cause of my engine's refusal to idle while cold?
