Dunno much about the townmate, even though I allegedly own one, I don't I have a V90 which is the stroke equivalent. Anyway back to your problem. I believe that the choke on the T 80 is not a choke as such as in it has a choke flap. It has a cold start enrichment set up. So when you pull the 'choke' on it operates a plunger system in the carb to make the mixture richer. How it works exactly I don't know. But I would be guessing that the fuel gallery from this enricment set up is blocked and needs cleaning out. I don't think it will look like a conventional jet, but I stand to be corrected. You might get Nige on, who does own one and does know what he's talking about...mainly, but not always
