Thanks Dan for your knowledge.

I have had my bike for over 20 years now. It's an H reg.

I have never has to adjust the idle speed so I really don't know.

How do I know if the compression is lacking?

When running and moving she seems pretty responsive.

As for the oil mix I mentioned, how do I know if she is burning/using too much?

Like you I am a complete novice and only learning valuable knowledge from this site! (Thank you all).

I have also noticed that I am using Esso petrol as the garage is closest to me. But the other week I had to fill up at an Asda store. This made a huge difference in the idling.....it made it worse.
So does petrol affect how the engines works as I have never had this experience in my 20 odds years riding my C90.

Hopefully I can look at the idle adjustment over the weekend.
