Thanks for that Griz. Sod it. It was such a fiddly job with my hand up Rubys arse to hold the bolt whilst I tightened the nut. Got to do it all again now.
So it looks like I'll need at least 4 washers each side then. One inside the frame, one outside before the tube. Then another one after the tube (replacing the missing indicator bracket) and one under the nut?
I should have had four washers left over but when I packed up I only had two. I've just discovered why. I'd put two resting on the tank. One was still there but the other must have fell off during my ride today. So, I actually have four spare washers that I know of after finding one in my tool box. I still have my old topbox to look in but it's in the bedroom and Hub has gone to bed now. I'll take a look tomorrow.
