An update on this. Initially I had a policeman come round a few days later to take all the details. Then I was rung by a policewoman who wanted to come round and take a statement. Then that appointment was cancelled, as was the next, and the next. Then she popped round to apologise and said she would phone with another appointment. That too was cancelled.
Today I've just had that very nice young lady policewoman (in plain clothes) come and take a very detailed statement from me. She was here over an hour questioning me, very thorough she was too. It ended with me signing a five page statement that would be sent to Scotland Yard.
Now why couldn't they have been that attentive when my bikes were stolen?
