I've just had an attempted bank scam. A phone call telling me that my card as been used elsewhere, money taken out etc. The dodgy bit is that that they say to phone the number on the back of the card. You get through etc etc etc. They have some how hacked into the phone line. Try and phone the card number again and the the line hangs up when you start asking questions. The scammer phones back. In my case he wanted my cut up card and organised a courier to collect it. I sent the first one away, the second one Hub challenged.
My advice is that if you get a phone call like this, (land line number) use you mobile to re-check the details as it's the land phone that they seem to be able to hack into.
