ayup Bogger, i was thinking about that noise of yours, after reading this thread. i am reliably informed that you did it the proper way and had the crank cases machined out. whilst looking at some standard 90 crank cases the other day i noticed how close the oil pump drive shaft is to the barrel spigot. could it be posible that the over sized barrel spiggot is causing the oil pump drive shaft to rub on it, if so it could be easely cured by grinding a small flat spot on the barrel spigot, thus clearing the oil pump shaft. if you have tried everything else, it maybe worth whiping the top half off and investigating.
