Personally I wouldn't take too much notice of the various oil companies' recommendations. Castrol specify 0wsomething synthetic for my Honda Jazz, but the handbook definitely shows 10w40 as suitable from -20 to +40 degrees, so it's been Magnatec 10w40 from new and the engine's fine. There's an awful lot of money to be made by over-specifying the oil to use.
