That's usually been the case in my experience. Up until now.
Insurers seem to have lost all sensibility of late. It comes of working off prepared lists so they can quote in 5 minutes flat. TBH I'm quite resentful of the situation, and I think they are largely to blame for people not being 100% honest about their machines.
I've heard of insurance declined for more than 4 stickers on a sport bike.
If you buy a CT90, even though it has a 6volt ZZ engine, you'll have to go to a specialist insurer like Footman James because only they have bothered to put it on their list. Even though it's no faster, not likely to harm anyone more than a ZZ, even if you go third party so they have no liability for your machine, they won't insure it. They will however happily insure a CT110 for not a lot of money at all-because it's on the list.
Never mind the rules and regs MAG are fighting, insurers are already implementing them by the back door via the policy's they offer, or rather, don't offer.
