Keep the oil changed regularly, most folks do this at about 500 mile intervals. Do not use fully synthetic oil as it makes the clutch slip. Use straight mineral or semi-synthetic oil. Also keep a close eye on oil level and top up as required, there is only a small amount of oil in the engine and if it isn't checked it can run low with disastrous consequences.
