if the voltage drops below (i think 3 vlt) those `smart chargers` dont kick in ! if you have an old (ie puts out steady set flow )charger you could bump it up to 3/4 volts see if that gets it going

those intelligent chargers arent as good as theyre made out

really need a meter on it !
