That is a good question Andy. At least two or maybe three owners ago it stopped running. It was either stripped then to sell as parts or sold as a non runner and the guy I bought it off bought it as you see now. None of the previous owners were bikers and seems like they didn't have any good biker friends but even then it couldn't have cost more than £100 to get a bike shop to repair it.
It cost me £160 and I bunged my mate £20 petrol money.
So far I have removed the rear tyre, polished the chrome and next I will paint the wheel inner rim with black hammertite. The rim tape is good and I have a spare Conti Go 250 x tyre to fit. I have washed and rubbed down the rear wheel arch and that will get the hammerite treatment as well. When it is all dry I will fit the wheels to give me the rolling chassis and that will do me for one day.
