I know you probably know this already but its worth mentioning anyway..Make sure the Feeler gauge you're using is set to metric (when measuring metric) and not imperial. I have a set of gauges with imperial on one side and metric on the other and its quite easy to get them mixed up, also makes sure the metric gauge is reading 0.05mm and not 0.5mm.
