Tappet gaps are like ring gaps - they are only a problem when you don't have any.

I'm convinced that Honda spec'd the thinnest feeler gauge in a std set just because it would be impossible to do anything less with any accuracy.

So long as the valves are not under pressure when cold then the gaps increase as the motor gets warm anyway.

I use 10 minutes of clock face rotation from lightly seated as a setting.
