Hi Lads,
I have 2 bikes a C100 & C70 6V bikes with no spark in any of them.
Tried Plugs,
Plug Caps,
Condenser,
Coil,
bypassed the ignition and only connected the black wire direct to the coil and the green earth to earth.
No battery in either but I was under the maybe misguided impression that a battery is not necessary just to get a spark.
Now i've cleaned the points and set them (0.03 at the F position) and there is not a sign of a spark. Any help as I'm at the end of the line. Changing the points is the last thing but it's a bloody nightmare trying to get the right ones over here.
The really annoying thing is that the C100 rode in ticking over perfect but the crank falling out of it and I rebuilt the engine put it back in the bike and no bloody spark. Now that I think of it I took the crank out of a bike with a different backplate but that should make no difference or would it. I kept it's original flywheel I think.
