Hi Patrick,
From experience it's worth checking the float bowl pin.
Mine leaks a little (nothing like 15 miles to the tank), but if it does it when your riding, the extra fuel escapes out the overflow pipe and you don't see it.
It can be easily checked by directing the overflow pipe from under the bike into a little pot (probably wouldn't use a glass pot, just in case it falls off).
