Sounds like it might be a charging problem to me. On the 6 volt C90 (unlike 50, 70 and 12v cdi 90) the ignition is battery powered, and they're notoriously borderline charging capability.

Have you tried running with the pilot lights on?
There are three charging coils in the alternator..- only one is used with the lights off, but the light switch introduces the other two when switched on, so they charge better with the lights on (counter-intuitive I know!).

The other possibility, with the symptom of restarting when left a while, is the fuel tank cap vent is blocked.
