Yesterday the excitement of snow was too much and the minute Andrew and I finished work we fitted MotoX tyres and headed for the hills. We had a brilliant time but both suffered carb icing. Today we headed for the hills again but not without a couple of mods. Andrews fix involved cutting a plastic milk bottle to shape and fitting it round the carb and filter and mine consisted of a sheet of aluminium screwed to the front of the leg shields in the same way people used to put card board over their radiator grills. Both ideas worked. brillantly until a 2ft snow drift rammed snow inside Andrews milk bottle
