When I went to Spain on mine, it drank oil. After I had ridden from Birmingham to Dover I casually checked the oil level. There was no oil showing on the dipstick same as yours and put in 600ml to bring it back up to level. I was shocked as previously it had never used any. I kept a close eye on it from then and it used a further 2+ ltrs before I got back home. Once back it never used any again?? I think when they get hot, for continued periods, some use oil, no smoking mind, and when the oil level drops a bit when the engine is hot the problem get worse exponentially. The hotter it gets the more oil it uses so it gets a bit hotter due to less oil which uses even more oil. At every stop I used to dip the oil and top it up a bit. This seemed to slow the oil useage. In conclusion don't worry too much just keep it topped up, some do that Sir.
