Thanks Nige - you're no doubt correct about the engine height but I may look at lowering the swinging arm mount by an inch - the frame is in the shed and its dark and raining so I'll look at it tomorrow, but it may be straight forward - so long as the welding is good and the geometry isn't too affected etc. The frame is stripped bare and shot blasted revealing umpteen rust holes so it needs major surgery in any case - it's scrap really, so nothing to loose. It may be possible to preserve the VIN by repositioning it if the swingarm mount mod isn't possible. Time is OK because its a hobby, and the longer it lasts the more fun it is, and if you take your time doing one job properley at a time you finish with a fantastic bike - I've had some brilliant little bikes before this which I'd tweaked and altered, but the last one, my best, was stolen - it was worth next to nothing but I'd spent hours and hours tweaking the thing, it's burnt out now so this c70 is the next project
