Anybody tried putting innova engine and bits on a c70?

Hi, I have an unregistered and unused 2004 innova - some guy imported it from Spain but never registered it and its been stuck in his shed till I bought it a few months ago. It's spanish spec and would need some work to register it here - new lights etc. I also have a 1973 basket case c70 in bits - most of the bits are there but its dismantled and the bits are knackered in the main, including a knackered frame. I was thinking of making a hybrid by trying to put the innova bits such as engine, forks, wheels etc on the c70 but attempting to preserve the looks of the c70 as much as poss. I am handy with a welding set etc. I guess I'd finish with a fast c70 that handles and brakes better - has anybody done this before? If so, ideas, pitfalls, etc any information would be useful, thanks, Dave
