Fortunately I've never had anything fly up and hit me neither when cycling or motorcycling however I had a few thing hit me when driving. The worst and potentially life threatening was a spare wheel that fell off a large trailer hitting my nearside before bouncing over the M6 central barrier causing an nasty accident on the other side. A couple of years ago I was cruising at around 100km in the Acadiane when a cock pheasant ran in front, leapt up hitting my nearside screen which cracked extensively. Being left-hand drive it meant facing a 200 mile drive peering around the many cracks.
My Innova has a screen and I wear a full face, when the bike fell over last summer breaking the original Honda screen I found the wind unpleasant and very noisy, I'm convinced the bike was slower too. As many will know I now have another screen...
