never run it dry, i tried that, it caused more problems,sticky floats,gaskets drying out etc,
the only way iv found is to run the bike,keeps the carb clean and free..
i change the petrol in any of mine stood after 4 months and run em till the new petrols got through, i mix the old petrol into my bigger bike or car which ever i use more at the time, then theres no waste
