If it is the sump plug then it is hopefully easily sorted. I had an oil leak just appear one day and it turned out to be a corroded sealing washer on the cam chain tensioner. I have had the bike from 3500 miles so this had obviously never been off. The corrosion had tunnelled across one face of the washer. When I cleaned off the washer there was a groove (that I could get the edge of my thumbnail into) from the inside to the outside of the washer. Took the offending washer down to Halfords and they have exact copy's hanging up in little bags and meant for something else. Regards. Bob.
