Have you had the engine rebuilt or is it just as you got it? I had idle problems on my second C90 1987 electric starter. That wouldn’t idle no matter how much I adjusted it. I was told it was due to lack of compression. I also had oil consumption. In the end it ended up living with it. I just had to keep holding the throttle slightly open. In the end the oil consumption got worst. I had the engine rebuilt and all was well after that.

Could the idle screw be set too low if the engine is good? You could try adjusting the idle screw. The throttle screw is the second screw on carb, the one with the cross head. Turn it in clockwise and go from there is what I would say. If it doesn’t idle or idles too high just turn it back. I would try and remember how far you’ve turned it. The Honda manual says get the bike up to running temperature. I say go for a 5 mile ride.

I’m confused what you mean by oil mix.

More expert knowledgable people than me will give better advice. I still consider myself to be something of a novice, after 10 years of C90 ownership.
