You can rest easy Harry, I didn't earn my nickname by removing petrol tanks before welding. You will be relieved to hear that as I welded the bike on it's side, I did so with a steady drip of petrol from the cap onto the concrete drive. My favourite bit was when I got near the petrol tank the heat caused the petrol to expand and I got a little jet of fuel coming out the cap beather hole. It was like Scruff was having a wee.
