I hate to say it Pete, but Copper Grease should not be used for steering head bearing lubrication or for that matter any parts which rotate or are a bearing fitment, it is an anti-seize compound and only for reassembly of non moving parts only such as nuts & bolts, exhaust studs for example. Brake bad backing to caliper piston is the only exception to this, but the movement is not the same if you get my drift. TBH Pete, ideally you need to strip it and pack with a LM grease.
