Just read all your posts, this is great, thank you so much
Checking so far ...
Oil - enough in but pretty black - will change when I can get to the shops
Chain was looser than 1" - corrected that
Front sprocket was very VERY clogged with gloop - cleaned that
spark plug looks like we are running rich (soft carbon) - I moved the carb float needle one notch leaner this morning already and that looks a little better now (not perfect yet)
off to check engine mounting bolts .....
