c90 Engine Vibration

Hi
Just brought a 1999 c90 cub in seemingly good condition (at lease body wise). it has done 19000 miles and been serviced by a Honda garage about every year according to the history! It has not been used much for the last year.
Engine starts well and runs ok but it seems to vibrate a lot as the revs increase. At tickover it runs smoothly with no noticeable ticks, clicks, rumbles etc. but at 30mph the vibration is such that it doesn't want to go any faster. Vibration is engine frequency so it doesn't seem like wheels, or drive train etc.
Has anyone else had this, or any ideas where I might start to look please?
