Post-2000 Transalps don't have the wheel rot prob that the ones up to 1999 had, and also Honda Dominators had.

Also, the CDI isn't directly under the seat such that the seat can press on it.

The Transalp was totally redesigned in the year 2000 model, type XL650V-Y onwards. Watercooled 650 motor of the same type as the Bros, Africa Twin, etc.
It's my Transalp that Andy is going to take off me and rebuild into a sidecar outfit.

If anyone gets a chance to buy a post-2000 TA but pre-injection (they had carbs for several years) then get one! They are incredibly reliable. So why am I getting shot of mine? I bought a Triumph Tiger...
