Heres a picture of my setup, its one of these brewbelts controlled by a solder it together yourself thermostat kit from Maplin about £7. The thermostat is in the black box but its sensor and the sensor for a £3 ebay electronic thermometer are held against wall of the brewing vessel by a bit of insulating foam and a bungee cord. Total cost about £40 but it will probably run for years and it keeps the temperature spot on. I can do 25 litres in eight days for £25. Sometimes I put an extra kilo of brewing sugar in for fun and its all quite strong stuff. Tastes better than most supermarket wine too, Regards. Bob. PS. You have to swop the relay on the Maplin kit for a 240v one but they sell them for about £3.
