A shocking lack of preventative maintenance

Riding home from Skeggy yesterday I got as far as Lincoln when the mighty Wuyang engine started cutting out at idle.We had a Cuppa at Ric's and then I set off for home(another 40 ish miles).It hadn't cured itself,in fact it was worse,with a strange sort of rythmic whistling noise in time with the engine revs.I was frozen by now,so I just thought stuff it and carried on....and good old bike, it got me home.Happy days.They're indestructible you know.Go on forever,etc. Anyway,I had a look at it today and as you can see in the photo,the inlet stub screws have come undone at the cylinder head 
.One side has a couple of screw threads still in the head,but the other screw has come out completely,leaving the inlet stub to just waggle about. 
At this point I just had to smile at the foolishness and then for some reason,I swear I could hear Bogger saying..........
