metal head gasket on 85cc cub

having just rebuilt my motor (fired up 1st prod

), on a couple of occasions whilst blipping the throttle, it has crackled past the head gasket on the topside of the head.

I've torqued the head nuts down a bit more, but not had time to retest it. Has anyone got good/bad experiences with those pattern metal head gaskets?.
