Very true Andy......also if you happen to be setting it between the exhaust and inlet strokes (valves rocking) it is very easy to achieve a misleading reading at the tappet, its definately much more reliable to go another turn of the crank from this condition to TDC between compression/power strokes to be sure

I hope this all makes sense and is not too confusing.
