Thanks Fuzz & Leiba....

Found a manual on Amazon which should be here in the next two weeks... should help a bit

Also had a look under the rear wheel arch and it looks pretty good... worth checking before the costs run up!

Not sure about what point 7 means but no doubt will be clearer in time...
[7. Check the cast iron barrel underneath for rusting, they CAN rust right through causing an oil leak from the main oil gallery that flows up through the barrel.]

Will see if a new battery out the box does anything for the starter...
