Greetings All....

Looking for some advice here please....

About 4 years ago bought my girlfriend a 1985 Honda Cub C90 Economy. She had never ridden a motor bike before and didn't listen to any of my instructions - so ended up getting freaked out by the acceleration, speed and stability and thus never rode it after the first time. It has been in the garage till this weekend - and now I need to get it going again.

The electric start didn't work when purchased, but a kick or two got it going. Otherwise it was fantastic and I loved it! I disconnected the battery before I put it away - but that was about it. Hope I was smart enough to use most of the fuel but don't remember.

So, splashed out £2 at Poundland so have 4 screw drivers and 3 spanners and ready to go:)

* Ordered a new battery.

* Planning on replacing the oil. It looks like there is a bolt under the engine that will drain this. (Don't know how much I need yet to replace it - and sees some debate on this subject so will steer clear of it for now :) )

* I tried to disconnect the petrol pipe that goes into the carb, but it seems firmly wedged on. I thus unscrewed the petrol on/off tap and got no fuel flow with the tap on the "on" position. I think there is a little petrol in there but not sure...how else would I check - or just fill it up?

* The tyres still have some air in and seem good as do the brakes.

* Not sure if I need to check the spark plug?

* Air filter clean? No idea how to do that! Had a look this afternoon but can't seem to figure out how it separates.

* Anything else I should look our for or try before kicking it over and zooming off?

I would one day like to get the electric start sorted but for now just want to get going.

Thanks for the help.... much appreciated...
