C50 Carb needle

Hi everybody.
Please help me with my problem. I have recently bought a 1978 C50 z-z. It is in very good condition, but has been laid up for a long time. After some basic maintenance, it starts and idles well, but when I try to rev it,it goes flat. The carburettor has been cleaned (several times), the points cleaned and timing set, the tappets have been set, and the cam timing has been checked. All to no avail. I now suspect it has the wrong needle fitted, here is the problem, the workshop manual does not give the specification, if you contact honda they give you the Honda part number, which is not what is stamped on the needle, and is discontinued anyway. The rebuild kit I bought was poor quality, then turned out to be for a different model. How hard can it be?
All I want to know is, is the needle in the bike, the right one? It has got 43A stamped on it. If anybody could tell me what needle is in there bike I would be very greatful. The main jet is 78, and the carb a PB40B-B.
Many thanks,
Richard.
