I have read this and indeed some time ago bought the ss inserts for when I do the job. But it seems to assume that the pin will still rotate in the frame rather than on the stand. I still think it is better to anchor the split pin so that it can't move. And it must be easier to cut the old assembly off and fit new rather than try to press the old shaft out.
