There is a flight of locks at a place called Tardebigge on the Worcester and Birmingham canal. It consists of about 30 locks which the guide books said would take a day or two to navigate depending on amount of river traffic. We went in October when river was quiet and arrived at the locks at a quater to five on Monday afternoon. By seven o' clock we had got through thirty locks in two and a quater hours.

How did we do it? A team of two ahead of the boat opening lock gates ready to receive boat and operating lock. Another team of two behind boat closing gates of lock just navigated. Both these teams running up and down towpath. Boat just kept on running without having to stop, like it was running down a stair case. One person driving boat and one person asleep on boat. Another person running up and down tow path with bottle of Ouzo dishing out healthy size portions to all concerned, this after a day of continuous deborchery since breakfast time at 07.30 when engines were started for the days cruise.

We did what was described in the guide books as a two week cruise in a week. Very active and busy week, a cross between a hardcore aerobics exercise week and the life of a 70s rock star on holiday. Happy days but couldn't do it now. :|
