Ok the "Highway Robbery division" of the police force gave me 2 ultimatums
1... pay 100 quid and get 3 points on my licence or 2...go to a 4hr training course on "how to spot speed cameras more effectively". this course is 80 quid and you get no points added to your licence. Sounded a better option at first until I read that the insurers don't like people attending these courses as its like admitting you are a poor driver and your premiums go up.

Looks like I'll take the 1st option as I know in the past I've had insurance quotes which worked out cheaper when I had 3 points on my licence.
