What's been occurring...!?

It's been a while since I've frequented any of the forums or groups and I was sad to learn that there's been some friction between group members. I've since caught up, read the threads and given thought to the opinions expressed. As someone who is supposedly responsible, but at the same time prone to fun loving moments of impulsive hooliganism, I can see both sides of the argument (I will add I don't care what actually happened, or indeed who, did or didn't do, see or hear...) working on principal and personal experience from previous events. My two'pennth is:

- Camping fits into two strictly seperate catagories, which I suspect for some the line blurrs (especially after a couple of pints and some peer pressure),

Family run / semi-rural small town camp-sites, like Matlock, Rhayader & Barmouth, at which loud, irresponsible behaviour is just not acceptable.

Big events or biker pubs and alike where rowdy behaviour is accepted and almost expected. (For example the BMF I attended had bikes speeding up and down, burnouts, blow-ups and people falling onto tents late into the night).

In either circumstance if there's an onsite pub it's rude to ignore the fact they sell food or drink (especially if the camping was subsidised or free).

- My view on events is they cannot be owned, either by a forum or an individual. If these meetings we attend become organised 'members only events' or even 'public events' with staff and marshalls etc, the whole legal and insurance standpoint changes, which is not something I would be willing to pay for, so I wouldn't expect anyone else to either. There may be organiser's (one or many) and they may have advice, reiterate campsite or other venue rules and are often the goto person / people. But they are not there to take responsibility, or be forced to police the actions of others. They have volunteered their time to get like minded people in the same place at the same time. Though I equally believe if someone if behaving in a manner someone doesn't agree with, or dislikes, it's up to that person to speak with the individual or group concerned, not for them to complain to the organiser(s).

That's all I've to say on the whole situation. I wasn't going to post anything, I haven't the patience for politics, all I'm bothered about is making friends and maintaining those friendships with people who have similar interests. After all variety is the spice of life. For that reason I want to spend my time with such a diverse group of people as you lot. Differing opinions and all.

Much love
