Thanks for the replies. This phone wont let me follow the link to ebay. However there is a brake plate identical to mine. Search on item no 191297161796 or HONDA CUB 90,Ref FOD: REAR BRAKE HUB. It even states in the description that it is from an F reg 1989 bike. The same year as mine. The edge of the plate sits just inside the brake drum most of the way around except for the section past the brake shaft and stay bar where it is larger diameter. Holding a feeler gauge horizontally at the side of the bike you can poke it into the drum. Thanks again for the help. It looks like it is the older plate so why it is locking up as I tighten the spindle nut is still a mystery. I have gout at the moment so cant kneel down to work at it. Thanks again.
