Thanks Fuzz and York for your replies. As you can see I have remedied my location as per the last two posts!
I think the problem may be operator error, but firstly I should say that the battery in any event is not completely dead, it will light, but not flash indicators etc. I can't believe how tiny it is, good job it's not necessary for starting! So, as advised will not attempt to charge it, but for the future would like to be able to use my optimizer on it, unless you think different? Secondly it has fresh(ish) fuel.i had it running, but not out on it about 3 weeks ago.
My mistake may have been flooding I think, because firstly I had left the petrol on since the last time I had it going and secondly, maybe I have misunderstood the operation of the choke. I looked at the handbook to check what I was doing with the lever and it seems what I thought was giving it choke was not. I.e I thought choke open meant choke was on and shut , choke was off. But it appears to be the other way round. In most cases using choke means putting more fuel in, but I suppose alternatively you could reduce air to riches the fuel mix, so if this is how this choke works I get it. Or am I barking up the wrong tree? ( or just barking!)
Anyway I am completely knackered from kick starting it and trying push starting it with a mate, so have left it in the garage pro tem, with the fuel switched off and choke shut, or was it open? ! ..
I propose to leave it for a day or so then switch the fuel on, leave the lever on the choke down and give it a go again. Maybe look and dry if necessary the spark plug?
Sorry, just one other thing, I notice that there is a stain on my garage floor where I keep the bike. It is around the side stand area. It doesn't look thick enough for oil, and I thought it maybe overflow of petrol after I have left on, as it seems a recent ish thing?
Thanks for your help,
Ian
