Hi Ady
Easy mistake to make, the bike you saw at Cadwell is Big Mig our Plop Enduro bike. Big Mig is a Jincheng copy of a Honda CF70 Chaly (10” wheels). The Plop Enduro Open Class rules only allow up to 110cc, so no 54mm bore for Big Mig. Monkey is a true Monkey Bike, ie 8” wheels, and is my summer transport, but doesn't come to the Bimbles because he only has room for one person. I’ve slowly increased the performance of Monkey because it actually makes him safer to ride. When you are that small it’s better to be able to keep up with traffic, and because of the tiny wheels you don’t get the same gyroscopic stability of larger wheels at slow speeds, it’s actually slightly (only slightly) more stable at higher speeds. Many Monkey bike owners spend most of their time making them bigger, by the use of 10” wheels, longer swing arms, longer shocks and forks etc. These modifications improve stability, but for me its takes away some of the charm of these bikes……….their tiny lol. Here are some pics to clarify.
