Hello All
Last year as I explained in Leiba's wedding thread, was pretty manic, so I've been looking forward to doing a little tinkering. So i decided on something quick and easy. First a bit of background; my Monkey Bike was originally 72cc from the factory. But over time I’ve changed bits and bobs as follows. The first big thing was to fit a crank, barrel, studs, cam chain, piston and head from 110 pit bikes to turn it into a 110. For this set-up I used a CV carb from a Honda SCV100. Once I got bored of this set-up, I bored out an early big valve C70 head to fit a cam from my old Wuyang 125. With the ball race cam fitted, I then ported the head, added a OO Racing high compression piston and changed the carb for a Keihin PE24. This set-up ran really well, but compression was slightly down despite the hp piston, due to the large combustion area of the C70 head. So a couple of days ago I fitted an unbranded 54mm alloy barrel from eBay, a Zongshen Z125HO piston, and a TB 54mm head gasket. The Z125 piston is dome top and even has the correct cutaways for the large valves. First impressions are very good. Compression is up, grunt is up and the PE24 Carb/C70 big valve head still provide enough breath to allow the engine to run all the way up to valve bounce. In case your wondering this change took the capacity from 107cc to 113cc, a whole 6cc lol.
Right then....what to Tinker with next.
Happy Tinkering all.
Hugs
