What you need Pete is some Ned Kelly armour to make you 100% Bogger proof, but I'd advise you to ditch the firearm and equip yourself with an squirty bottle of mild chilli sauce. Don't use hot chilli sauce or that could be considered a weapon of mouth destruction and would have the UN involved.
