'New in early 2012' I think you'll find things have moved on a bit since then John.

I'm running two 5w LED's on the cub in addition to the headlight. Run straight off the battery. I have an LED voltage indicator. Running the LED's will see the battery voltage fall off from 12.6v or so (Spanking new battery) to about 7v in half an hour. I have no idea why this happens. I could do with more juice to the battery. Maybe I should regulate the supply to the headlight (DC) and share available power with the LED's ?

They are very useful near field, and light the edge of carriageways nicely too.
However for range the headlight is still best.
